Micah Brown, RN, Breast Nurse Navigator
A diagnosis of breast cancer can be overwhelming for patients as well as their families. As the Breast Health Nurse Navigator, Micah Brown is an educator, an advocate, and a friend. She assists in all aspects of the patient’s care experience from answering questions to scheduling appointments and providing guidance or just being there for moral support.
“Knowing what resources and services are available and being able to access and utilize them can be a challenge for anyone facing breast cancer,” says Micah. “My goal is to be a liaison to enhance the quality and continuity of care for breast cancer patients.”

Radiology
Since its inception in 1983, Roswell Radiology Associates (RRA) has made exceptional patient care its priority. We provide women’s imaging services at North Fulton Hospital and Roswell Imaging Center. The members of RRA have completed their diagnostic radiology and fellowship training at some of the most prestigious programs in the US. All members are board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and are members of major radiological societies, including American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, Society of Interventional Radiology, Society of Nuclear Medicine and American Society of Neuroradiology. Several members have also had their work published in leading medical journals.
What sets RRA apart is that all members bring a high level of expertise to women’s imaging. All of our radiologists are breast specialists, and at Roswell Imaging Center, we operate a high-volume breast & women’s imaging center with approximately 10,000 visits per year. Our members have received additional training in the latest imaging techniques, including digital mammography, PET/CT and breast MRI. Additionally, we provide expert skills in minimally-invasive biopsies using imaging guidance. This includes ultrasound, MRI, and stereotactic guided biopsies. Each member maintains high standards with monthly peer-review conferences, active participation in tumor board conferences, and by pursuing extensive continuing medical education at many national and international imaging and interventional conferences.

Medical Oncology
North Fulton Hospital’s experienced medical oncologists are well-versed in a wide range of cancer treatments, including the newest surgical techniques and drug therapies.
Ronald G. Steis, M.D.
Board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, Dr. Steis has twice been named as one of Atlanta’s “top docs” by Atlanta Magazine. He completed his medical training and residency at the University Health Center of Pittsburg. Following his clinical fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, he continued to conduct research work there, leading investigational studies while serving as Chief of the Clinical Research Branch. He began practicing as a full-time medical oncology specialist with Atlanta Cancer Care in 1991 where he is the principal investigator of all clinical trails.
Silpa C. Reddy, M.D.
Dr. Reddy grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. She completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology and is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and oncology. She is a member of several professional organizations including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology. Her integrative approach to patient care involves focusing on both the physical and spiritual well-being of her patients.
Karthi Subbannan, M.D.
Dr. Subbannan received her medical degree from Coimbatore Medical College in Tamilnadu, India. After that, she completed her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Hematology Oncology from Medical College of Georgia, in Augusta, GA. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology.
She joined Georgia Cancer Specialists in 2009 and currently practices in Johns Creek and Alpharetta. Her special interests include breast cancer, coagulation disorders, benign and malignant hematology. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology. She has published in many journals including the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

Laura Rivers Pearson, M.D. – Medical Director of the Breast Program
Dr Rivers is an experienced surgeon for minimally invasive breast biopsy, breast surgery, breast disease management, and oncoplasty. She provides breast surgery consultations and follow-up care following breast surgery.
After completing her training and residency in general surgery, Dr. Rivers later followed with a fellowship in surgery and breast oncology. She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Association of Women Surgeons, American Society of Breast Disease, and the Tulane Surgical Society.
George W. Shaak, M.D.
Dr Shaak completed his training and residency in general surgery. He is board-certified in General Surgery and has done additional training in advanced laparoscopic techniques. He has also completed additional training in breast ultrasound and ultrasound guided breast core needle biopsy techniques. Using breast ultrasound he is able to diagnose and biopsy breast lumps or masses found on exam or mammogram. Dr. Shaak is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the Georgia Surgical Society, the Atlanta Surgical Society, Georgia Medical Association, and the Southeastern Surgical Congress.
Jeff G. Tucker, M.D.
Dr. Tucker is a board-certified surgeon by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. After completing his surgical training and his residency, Dr. Tucker became involved with medical research. His research interest has focused on advanced laparoscopic surgery and techniques. He is widely published on this subject both nationally and internationally.
Jeffrey S. Hoadley, M.D.
With both a masters degree in psychology and a medical degree, Dr. Hoadley’s interest and knowledge of the field of medicine is vast. Following his training, he went on to complete a fellowship in hepatobiliary surgery with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Dr. Hoadley has served on the Special Olympics Honorary Board, the Mercy Mobile Indigent Care Fundraiser Golf Committee, and as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Co-Director of the 2001 5k run honoring Dr. L. Sanders.
John S. Harvey, M.D.
Dr. Harvey, who has 30 years of medical experience, has been a member of North Fulton Hospital’s medical staff since 1984. During this time, he has served in many leadership roles such as Chief of the Medical Staff and member of the Board of Directors. He belongs to several professional medical organizations, including the Medical Association of Georgia, serving as Speaker and Executive Committee member. He is also a past President, past Chairman of the Board and current Board Member of the Medical Association of Atlanta. His surgical practice provides breast surveillance and management of all aspects of breast disease.
Mark B. Wilkiemeyer, M.D.
Dr. Wilkiemeyer grew up in Atlanta and attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. He attended medical school at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. His post-graduate training included an internship and subsequent residency at the University of Texas Southwestern in the Department of General Surgery, and a fellowship in laparoscopic surgery at the Duke University Medical Center.
He is a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, a candidate member of the American College of Surgeons, and diplomatic member of the American Board of Surgery.
Michael A. Hoffman, M.D.
Dr. Hoffman was born in 1958 in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Emory University School of Medicine in 1984 and then followed with training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, where he served as chief resident in general surgery and an instructor.
Dr. Hoffman has completed over 160 medical education hours and is a member of the Medical Association of Georgia, the Southeastern Surgical Congress, the Laparoscopic Society of Atlanta, the Georgia Surgical Society, and the Georgia Society of General Surgeons. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
The plastic and reconstructive surgeons affiliated with the North Fulton Hospital Breast Care Team are skilled and knowledgeable in the latest surgical and non-surgical options for breast reconstruction after a mastectomy.
Asaf Yalif, M.D.
Dr. Yalif completed his training and residency in general surgery. He then went on to serve as a fellow in hand and microvascular surgery and then pursued postgraduate training in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Yalif is an outstanding educator in his fields of expertise. Throughout his training he has instructed and taught fellow residents and staff as well as the communities where he lived. Dr. Yalif is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and associated with the American College of Surgeons.
Brian Howard, M.D.
Dr. Howard has been helping his patients realize their cosmetic surgery goals at his Roswell-area plastic surgery facility since 1998. Certified in both plastic surgery and otolaryngology, Dr. Howard is uniquely qualified to address his patients’ most challenging plastic surgery needs. He is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology for Head and Neck Surgery.
Marc Klein, M.D.
Dr. Klein brings with him 15 years of experience in plastic surgery. He is board-certified and an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, American Medical Association, American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. After completing his medical degree and residencies in general and plastic surgery, Dr. Klein served two specialty fellowships in cosmetic surgery. He has performed more than 10,000 procedures for patients throughout Georgia and the United States.
Radiation Oncology
The radiation oncologists of North Fulton Hospital’s Breast Care Center are key participants in the patient’s plan for care, coordinating their efforts with the medical oncologists, surgeons and radiologists. Using high-energy radiation therapy, our radiation oncologists work to destroy cancer cells, reduce pain and prevent cancerous cells from spreading.
Craig Wilkinson, M.D.
Dr. Wilkinson completed his residency in radiation oncology and internal medicine at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. In addition to radiation oncology, he has a special interest in breast, lung, prostate and stereotactic radiosurgery. Dr. Wilkinson is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiation and Oncology, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and the American Medical Association.
Henry D. Cline, M.D.
Dr. Cline has practiced Radiation Oncology in the North Atlanta area for more than 20 years. He has earned a reputation for making innovations, including the development and design of radiation treatment facilities. He is board-certified in Radiation Oncology. His professional affiliations include the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation and Oncology, American Medical Association, Medical Association of Georgia and Medical Association of Atlanta, among others.
